This is a really good book about leadership. It was actually part of our required reading for summer term and I had forgotten to post it. The one thing I really liked about this book is the concept of a leader being a "servant" to the organization. A true leader knows that it must build human relationships and trust in order to effectively "lead." As a servant, the leader works for the employees and not the other way around. A true leader also has a vision for the organization and is able to actualize that vision with the collaborative support of employees. This book is packed with so much information. You could read this book in one sitting, or could spend an entire week reflecting upon each concept.
Closing My Achievement Gap is a blog about my personal growth as an educator, leader, and promising scholar. Since I love learning for the sake of learning, I have challenged myself to blog about every educational book I read this upcoming academic year. The sole purpose of this endeavor will be to continue learning more about education, educational related topics, and leadership.
